Benchmark Builders of Wayne County, Inc. has been in existence since 1997.  The principal and staff however, have been involved in the building and real estate business in the area since the 1970’s.   We mostly concentrate in the medium and upper end price range of houses with an emphasis on quality and craftsmanship.   We have become known in the area as the “company that does it like it ought to be done”.  In general, we limit our building to Wayne and adjacent counties.

Most of the homes we build fall into the custom built or pre-sale category.   We have lots available around the county, but are happy to build on your lot or assist you in finding one.  In addition, we also have several different floor plans.  Frequently a customer will come in, describe what type of house and price range they are interested in and we produce a plan to fit their needs.  Not everyone has the luxury of being able to wait for a home to be built.  Because of this, we also have some homes in various stages of construction, prices, and locations available for sale.  Please feel free to check on our current listings page for houses available or e-mail us with your questions.   We are able to help walk you through the entire process of plans, lots, financing and building.

	James Oakley was born and raised in Farmville, N.C.  He has been a resident of the LaGrange community for over 30 years.  James has been involved in the residential building business for over 35 years.  James brings a unique blend to the business of one who possesses not only an advanced knowledge of the structural aspects of building but also an attitude of doing the job right.  James is also involved in his community.   He is a member of the Wayne Co. Homebuilders Association, Local Chamber Of Commerce and First P.H. Church in Goldsboro.
	Amy Mote was born in Goldsboro, and raised in LaGrange, NC.  She has been involved in the residential building and realestate business for the past 12 years, she has been with Benchmark Builders for the past 10 years.  Amy handles Sales and Interior Design for Benchmark.  She says, "Building or buying a new home should be one of the biggest and most exciting times of ones life.  So many have had bad experiences with the building or purchase of a new home, we are here to change that attitude and make it a rewarding and enjoyable time, as it should be."  She is a member of the Wayne Co. Chamber Of Commerce, the Realtors Association, and The First P.H. Church in Goldsboro.
